CONSULTATION WITH AN AYURVEDIC PRACTITIONER
An Ayurvedic practitioner will perform various traditional diagnosis and prognosis methods including: pulse reading and visual assessments such as eye, tongue and nail readings to determine the balance of your doshic state. In chronic conditions, a detoxification program called “panchkarma” (fivefold detox program) may be encouraged by the Ayurvedic practitioner.
NEUROTHERAPY OR “NADI MARDAN KRIYA”
“Nadi Vigyan” (knowledge of the nervous system) deals primarily with nerves and their connective points with muscles, joints, blood vessels and lymphatic channels. Neurotherapy is a complete system of healing which facilitates functioning of the body–mind–spirit.
ABHAYANGA (AYURVEDIC MASSAGE)
Abhayanga increases circulation, liberates toxins, balances chakras, and nourishes the skin. Warm oils are vigorously massaged with specialized strokes and marma point pressure tailored to your specific constitution. This full-body massage works on both the physical and subtle body to balance prana, relax the body, rejuvenate the soul, and calm the mind.
SHIRODHARA (POURING OF FLOWING WARM OIL ON FOREHEAD)
Shirodhara promotes relaxation, mental clarity, and comprehension, relieves headaches and insomnia, and gives strength to the nervous system. After preparing the body with an Abhayanga massage, continuous warm oil is streamed onto the forehead and third eye chakra, carrying you into a state of calm bliss. This treatment releases tension and is excellent for chronic stress-related problems.
Yoga includes techniques of breathing, meditation, body awareness and purification, and emotional stability. Particular medical conditions can be alleviated, managed and even helped towards healing by carefully selected elements from this broad yoga tradition.
SWEDANA (STEAM BATH)
This therapy consists of applying steam evenly to the entire body (except for the head) with an Ayurvedic steam chamber. This method is often used after an oil massage to detoxify the body, and help the medicated oils to further penetrate into the tissues, promoting relaxation. Aromatherapy oils or herbs can be used for additional therapeutic effects.
UDARVATAN (HERBAL MASQUE)
The application of an herbal masque can firm and detoxify the skin while renewing cell generation through the removal of dead skin cells. This rejuvenating therapy leaves the skin looking radiant, supple and smooth to the touch.
GARSHANA (DRY HERBAL MASSAGE)
Exfoliates the skin, stimulates lymphatic circulation, enables nutritive oil to penetrate deep into the tissues and eliminates stagnant waste. This unique treatment begins with a dry lymphatic skin brushing with silk gloves, followed by an herbal treatment. Warm oils are then applied to the skin to nourish and regenerate the cells.
KATI BASTI (LUMBOSACRAL REJUVENATION THERAPY)
Relax to a soothing back massage specifically designed to release your individual areas of tension and pressure. Warm oil is then filled into a dam-like formation made of dough and placed on the lumbosacral area. This allows the spine to slowly rebalance itself to a natural equilibrium.
